On 23 August, the participants in the RAID Suisse-Paris set off from Basel to reach Paris in three stages. The competitors travelled through magnificent landscapes, passing through Dijon and Orléans to reach the finish line at the Château de Rambouillet. Motorcar fans were able to see exceptional vehicles of all categories and engine sizes made up to 1975. The Veterans category, which includes vehicles made no later than 1939, is worth a special mention.

A grand opening was held for the 2007 RAID in Basel on 22 August, in one of the halls of Messe Schweiz Basel: the Premium Car & Luxury Show. This was an opportunity for guests to have an exclusive preview of the latest innovations of the top luxury car brands. They were also able relive the excitement of the recent victory of Alinghi in the America’s Cup by taking a stroll through the space reserved for Audemars Piguet, devoted to the Swiss Defender. All the models created by the Le Brassus firm were on display, to the great delight of lovers of both timepieces and sailing.
On 23 August, Audemars Piguet had invited several clients and partners to watch the departure of the 2007 RAID 2007 from a VIP stand. They were thus able to applaud each competitor and watch the collector’s cars drive past in a truly unforgettable procession.
