Chanel et Audemars Piguet créent la J12 3125
Over recent years the “J12” collection has established itself as an international watchmaking reference; whether the model be in black or white ceramic, a chronograph, a Tourbillon or set with diamonds, sapphires, emeralds or rubies. Following the success of the grand complication: the “J12” Tourbillon; Chanel wished a return to authenticity with a “Haute Horlogerie” automatic movement with 3 hands, paying homage to the very roots of traditional watchmaking. In order to create this new movement, Chanel naturally turned to one of the most prestigious Swiss “manufacture”, Audemars Piguet. The new “J12” GMT automatic watch, created by Jacques Helleu and produced in the Chanel watchmaking workshops in la Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland, is for the big-time travelers. GMT or Greenwich Mean Time function gives the time in two different time zones of the world simultaneously. The new ultra-flat watchcase design and the large dial give the GMT watch a chic and sporty look, combining comfort and refinement. The “J12” was created in 2000, and it is there that the incredible adventure of this unique timepiece began. In 2005, the “J12” took its first steps into the very cloistered world of Fine Jewelry watches with the queen of all complications –the “Tourbillon”. In order to achieve this, the best Swiss watchmakers worked to produce the exclusive “CHANEL O5-T.1” movement, with its exceptional features: the ultra-thin ceramic bottom-plate (2mm thick), the optical glass cage and the 18-karat white gold bridge... 
From 2006 the “J12” Superleggera - created by Jacques Helleu - will be available in a matt-finish, ultra-light articulated black rubber bracelet, combined, for the first time, with a sand-blasted watch case, giving a definitive black appearance. This J12 watch is a mixture of exclusive and timeless materials: 18-karat white gold, deep-black scratchproof ceramic and Mademoiselle Chanel's favorite gemstone, diamond.
