Hermès Arceau Temps Suspendu
Suspends time without disturbing either its onward march
or its precision
The Watch Quote™ - March 26th, 2011

Arceau Le Temps suspendu, the latest creation from Hermès, suspends time without disturbing either its onward march or its precision. With this new and spectacular complication, its owner can forget the present time thanks to an ingenious system of cams, pinions and segments. He can, if he pleases, stop the time and return to it whenever he wishes. This illusion is made possible by an additional module that enables the watch to alternate automatically between real and suspended time, coordinated by two synchronised column wheels, one for the hours, the other for the minutes and date. Thanks to its 360° hour and minute retrograde mechanism, the time stops and moves into the "Time Suspended" zone at 12 o'clock, while the date hand disappears completely. A non-conventional but very entertaining and personal way to display the time.
