Diamonds and stars – that’s the Glam,
leather and metal – that’s the Rock
The Watch Quote™ - January 15th, 2008
With a new Elite 68 movement, a small second counter at 9 o’clock, housed in a 37.5 mm diameter case, this new masterpiece plays light against dark on a smooth leather strap. Larger than its Baby Star sister, and thinner than a chronograph, it offers an elegant compromise to the woman who wants a feminine watch that concentrates on the essentials. Its special feature is the workmanship of the dial, which is studded with stars and set with diamonds in every version: the numerals have 12 black and 15 white diamonds, whilst 11 shards of light burn against a midnight-sky black or a luminous white background. Another option is to have the diamonds on the bezel play joyful music : two black diamond notes for every white one, 2.5 carats in total. And on the back, through the sapphire glass, the completely hand-made automatic mechanical movement is in full view.
The Star El Primero version is of course still available, with a similar bezel setting : for women who cannot imagine life other than at 36,000 vibrations per hour, working girls, urban chic but laid back, just as ready to meet a challenge as to let go. They will give themselves the world, in the shape of the Star Open, which reveals the escapement of the El Primero 4021 movement in a great starburst. The smaller Baby Star, which can be open or not open, comes with a removable rigid strap, very rock ‘n roll.
Whether the watches are on a metal link bracelet, or a smooth black patent leather strap or even rubber embossed with numbers and stars, this festive collection combines black, stainless steel and diamonds, and can be worn in broad daylight or in the heat of the night. Designed for the ZENITH woman, these timepieces conjugate the useful with the pleasing, the decorative with the essential, thus proving that it is possible for beauty and intelligence to be one.
